Our Community

Vista Academy is a Community of Teens and Young Adults Dedicated to Recovery

Vista Academy

“I was the only kid going to meetings, and trying to stay sober in my area. It made things really difficult, and it was tough to relate to people losing houses, unpaid mortgages, divorces, and children not talking to them. Vista Academy helped me remain sober and I was surrounded by other people my age. This made it so much easier to relate.” – Scott S., Former Vista Academy Student

Vista Academy has built an environment based upon adolescents achieving sobriety individually, with family, and in the community. Located in Southern California, an area known for its large group of young people in recovery, students are consistently surrounded and introduced to healthy peer relationships as well as positive growth between the adolescent and his/her family.

Vista Academy is a community of sober adolescents and teens working to better themselves. The students that attend Vista Academy come from different circumstances, but they all have struggles with drug and alcohol addiction.

Ideal Environment

Adolescents can often need smaller, more intimate environments to help hold them accountable and to make sure they get the attention they need. Students have their housemates as well as staff available for support around the clock. Vista Academy students are under supervision by trained staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to assure a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment.

Accountability

This group home living environment encourages house members to hold each other accountable for their chores, actions, and as a result their sobriety. The bonds residents make with their housemates throughout the Vista Academy experience can build some of the strongest friendships residents have ever had. Living in this environment teaches our students they are capable of having healthy relationships with both authority figures as well as their peers.

Helping Students Grow

Each resident receives weekly individual psychotherapy, group therapy and substance abuse treatment services. Family therapy is also provided upon the family’s request. Through a holistic approach that includes life skill and physical fitness development, education, emotional intelligence, and productivity, Vista Academy addresses the cycle of need and assists the young person in understanding and developing their emotional well-being.
