The Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services’ mission is to provide comprehensive, family-centered social, educational and behavioral health services that encourage children, adolescents and their families to lead self reliant, stable and productive lives.
Founded in 1908 as The Jewish Orphan’s Home of Southern California, Vista Del Mar began serving children living on the streets of Los Angeles whose parents could not care for them because of illness, poverty, or death.
Over the course of time, as societal needs changed, Vista kept pace with the changing needs of children. Branching out into areas of foster care, adoption, and the treatment of children with mental health problems, emotional problems, behavior problems, social problems, or developmental difficulties, in 2010 Vista remains one of the preeminent social service agencies serving children and their families in Southern California. Efforts are made to provide a highly individualized service involving both the child and family in the treatment process. A variety of treatment methods are utilized both within the Agency and by referral to other agencies where such is appropriate.
Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services has adapted and changed based on the needs of the child, teen, and adolescent population. Seeing an increasing need for age specific, dual diagnosis drug treatment they partnered with Sober College to open Vista Academy.
