Learning the Industry of Expression
Giving Teens the Opportunity to Create Something Original
Our on-site Film Program Director teaches residents about the ins and outs of the film industry. Students learn how to work both behind and in front of the camera, set up and use professional lighting, and digitally edit their own films. Our Film Department has completed several shorts films that have been featured in the 48 and 72 hour Film Festivals, as well as being showcased at Sober College’s talents shows and premier events.
The Benefits of Self Expression to Recovery
Self expression in drug rehab can often take the form of writing, painting, sculpting and much more. Self expression in drug addiction treatment takes on many forms and for some, it can happen in front of, or behind the camera in our film department. Addiction recovery fosters multiple avenues of self expression through the “expressive arts.” The therapeutic nature of expressive arts is well documented and serves as a wonderful enrichment to alcohol and drug addiction recovery experience.
